ST. AUGUSTINE, FL____Fred E. Learned, Jr., 69, of St. Augustine, Fl., and West Yarmouth, Ma., formerly of Worcester died Wednesday Nov. 26 in Flagler Hospital.
He leaves his wife of 46 years, Frances R. (Levesque) Learned; three sons, Michael P. Learned of Littleton, Ma., Scott J. Learned of North Myrtle Beach, S. C., and Christopher D. Learned of Scottsdale, Az., a sister, Barbara Tucker of Worcester; four grandchildren, Ted, Carly, Andrew and Zachary Learned and nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Fred E. and Gertrude (Fahlbeck) Learned and lived in Worcester many years before moving to West Yarmouth 8 years ago. He was a winter resident of St. Augustine.
Mr. Learned was an engineer 40 years for Norton Co., and later Saint Gobain and retired in 1997. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a 1969 graduate of Northeastern University and later studied at the Management School at WPI. He was a member of Regatta Point Community Sailing in Worcester.
The funeral will be held on Thursday Dec. 4 with a service at 10 a.m. in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
