Framingham: M. Blanche Demers, 103 years of age, died on September 4, 2010 at the Countryside Nursing Home in Framingham. She was the wife of the late Oscar J. Demers.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Aime and Annie (LaPlante) St. Laurent. As a young woman she studied hairdressing and worked with her late sister Florence in operating a beauty salon in Salem. Following Blanche and Oscar’s marriage the couple moved to Marblehead and remained residents until his passing. She moved back to Salem and later, she and Florence moved to Punta Gorda, Florida. Shortly after Florence’s passing, Blanche moved to Framingham to be near her sister Jeannette.
Blanche always enjoyed time with her family as well as a leisurely game of golf. While a resident of Salem, she was a member of the former St. Joseph Parish
She is survived by a sister, Jeannette Audet of Framingham, several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Ida Connolly, Eva Demers, Florence St. Laurent, Marie Sentkowski, and a brother, Leo St. Laurent.
Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial mass on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem.
