Mr. Domenic Cortese, age 89 of Winchester, died Monday in the Winchester Hospital. He was the husband of the late Yolanda (Lia) Cortese. Mr. Cortese was born in Italy and came to the United States at the age of 8, settling with his family in Boston’s North End. A true entrepreneur, he was the proprietor of a Meat Shop in Boston’s North End in the 1960’s, during the 1970’s was the owner of the Charles Bank Superette in Waltham, and during the 80’s owned the Nugent Liquor Store in Boston.
A wonderful cook who loved to eat, he enjoyed the music of Sinatra and the company of his children and grandchildren and his many friends, considered extended family members.
He is survived by three daughters: Claudia Nolan and her husband William of Winchester, Andrea Collins and her husband Edward of Wilmington, Denise Cortese and her companion Rick Wynn of Rehoboth. two sisters: Gloria Romano of Saugus, MA, Angela Guerney of NY
