Obituary

Marianna (Pascucci) Birtwell, 90, of Walpole died September 12 at her home. She was the wife of the late John L. Birtwell who died in 1997.
Born in Grottaminarda, Italy, August 25, 1920, the daughter of the late Gennaro and Antonetta (Caruso) Pascucci, Mrs. Birtwell came to America in 1928 and had lived in Walpole ever since.
Mrs. Birtwell had been an office manager at Kendall Mills in Walpole for many years.
Mrs. Birtwell was an accomplished artist who attended the Massachusetts School of Art.
She also enjoyed crocheting.
Mrs. Birtwell was well known and loved for the spaghetti and pizza dinners she made throughout the years for the sports teams that her grandchildren played on while at Walpole High School.
She is survived by her children, Nina and her husband Ronald L. Staley of Walpole and John G. Birtwell and his wife Katie of Walpole.
She was the sister of the late Antoinette Mazzini.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tina and Steven Berry of Tewksbury, Mary Anne and William Greener of Brooklyn, NY, Jane Staley, Tess Staley and Joanna Staley of Walpole, Sarah Birtwell of Walpole, Anthony and Liz Staley of Topsfield, John and Kim Staley of Auburn, Christopher Staley of Allston, James Staley of Boston and John A. Birtwell and his fiancée Loula Panagapoulos of Walpole and great-grandmother of 8.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, September 17 from the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main St. in Walpole at 9:15 followed by as funeral Mass in Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in South Walpole
Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
