Llewellyn “Dill” Reed, 86, of Gloucester, Mass. died Sunday, January 27, 2002, at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH after a brief illness. He was born in Cambridge, Mass. on June 7, 1915, a son of the late Warren and Hilda (Hughes) Reed. He was a resident of Gloucester, Mass. for the past 52 years, formerly living in Woburn, Mass. He served in the US Navy during WWII. “Dill” was a florist in Woburn, Mass. until he retired to Gloucester, Mass. where he truly enjoyed the ocean.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eleanor (Emerson) Reed of Gloucester, two daughters, Mrs. James (Ellen) Dean of Northwood, NH, Mrs. Martin (Elizabeth) Allen of Hampstead, NH, three grandchildren, Cheryl Dean, James Dean and Jonathan Allen, one great granddaughter, Yvonne Dean-Bailey, and his brother, Russell Reed of Gloucester.
There are no calling hours. Follow cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH is handling arrangements.
