William Jones Pruitt, age 69, of 113 Pritchett Farm Road, Dry Fork, died Friday, September 10, 2010 in the Danville Regional Medical Center. He had been in declining health for three weeks.
Born June 17, 1941 in Ruffin, NC, he was the son of the late Annie Jones Pruitt and Roy Thomas Pruitt, Sr. He lived most of his life in Eden, and for the past five years in the Dry Fork Community. Mr. Pruitt was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two sons: Charles Steven Pruitt of Eden and Kevin Lee Pruitt of New York; five brothers: Roy Pruitt of Stanley, NC, Leonard Pruitt of Ruffin, NC, Vern Pruitt of Reidsville, NC, Randy Pruitt of Ruffin, NC, and Eddie Pruitt of Eden, NC; two grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Dr. Doug Barber will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at eleven o’clock from the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
