Phyllis J. ( Samson ) McGrath, a retired Executive Secretary of Stoughton passed away on Monday September 6, 2010. She was 91 years old.
Born in Roslindale, she lived in Milton before moving to Stoughton in 1953. Mrs. Mc Grath graduated from Hyde Park High School ( Boston ) and then from the former Boston Clerical School. She also studied at the Phyllis J. (Samson ) McGrath, a retired Executive Secretary of Stoughton, passed away on Monday New England Conservatory of Music and was an accomplished pianist and organist. She was also an avid gardener and enjoyed the outdoors.
She worked as an Executive Secretary at the former Draper Brothers Textile Mill in Canton and after coming to Stoughton worked as an executive secretary for 18 years at the Brookfield Engineering Laboratories in Stoughton. She retired in 1972.
She was also a former member of the Stoughton Women’s Club and the First United Methodist Church of Stoughton.
Wife of the late Thomas P. McGrath, she is survived by her son Mark H. del’Etoile of Stoughton, her grandson Nicholas L. del’ Etoile of Londonderry, New Hampshire, one great - grandson, one great - granddaughter and her sister Lillian Lutz of Bremen, Maine. She was also a sister to the late Nicholas W. Samson.
At her request, all funeral services will be private.
