Roger Joseph Richard of Boxford and beloved husband of Cynthia (Boisvert) Richard, died at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, following a lengthy illness on Monday, September 6, 2010. He was 55 years old.
Born in Richibucto, NB, Canada, he was the beloved son of Rita (Robichaud) and the late Aurele J. Richard. Roger was a builder of magnificent homes in Andover, North Andover and Boxford, for more than 30 years. He leaves a legacy of over 50 homes, most known for their style, grace, quality and exceptional detail. Roger grew up on the job site, first working with his father, Aurele and then by working in various trades and finally building his first home at the young age of 22. Roger made the jump to Real Estate five years ago, working first with Stonewall Realty and then with Coldwell Banker. He loved working with people and helping them to find the right home. His work with St Jude Children’s Research Hospital along side his wife Cindi and their committee members helped to raise over $500,000. throughout their 10 years of volunteering for the hospital.
Besides his beloved wife, Cynthia, Roger is survived by his loving son, Steven M. Richard of Boxford, his siblings; Stella (Rene Boucher) Richard of Richibuto, NB, Canada, Yvonne Leger of Venice, Florida, Ann Marie and (Guy) Richard of Leominster, Ray Richard of Barstow, California, Normand Richard of Leominster and Carmella and (George) Norris of Merrimack, New Hampshire, his nieces and nephews; Ronald LeBlanc, Christine Schueler, Robert and William Leger and Jeff and Jenny Richard, his in-laws; Roland and Janet Boisvert, David and Pilar Boisvert, Alan and Lynn Boisvert and Sandi and John DiSalvo; nieces and nephews; Christopher, Thomas, Michelle and James Boisvert, Beau and Ryan Prentice and Jake, Luke and Seth DiSalvo.
A celebration of Roger's life was held at the Black Swan Restaurant, Route 133, Georgetown, on Sunday, September 12, 2010, from 4 to 9 PM. His funeral mass was celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover, MA Monday, September 13, 2010, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance.
