Kathryn Ross, affectionately known as “Kay” went home to be with the lord on September 1, 2010, just a few weeks before her 100th birthday. Kay resided at Longmeadow Nursing Home in Taunton, MA. She was born October 15, 1910 to Hattie and Clarence Stevenson, in Jacksonville, FL. Kay was one of five children, all whom preceded her in death except one sister, Charlotte Glover of Philadelphia, PA. Kay later moved to Philadelphia as a young child and was educated in the Philadelphia school system and accepted Christ at an early age. After migrating to New York she then met and married her beloved husband, Cephas Ross, who preceded her in death. Together they moved to Taunton, MA. and joined the Baptist Church of all Nations. Kay was devoted member and served her church well, as a Sunday School Teacher, member of the Women’s Missionary Fellowship and a member of the “JOY” (Just Older Youth) Seniors Ministry. Kay worked at Swank in Attleboro, MA. for over 25 years. Kay provided motherly love to many, especially her younger sister, Charlotte, who she considered “her baby”. She also has a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved and cherished tremendously. She leaves to cherish her memory, one sister Charlotte Glover, six nieces; Lenora, Audrey & Quited, Valerie, Patricia & Jerry, Charlotte and Fredlyn, four nephews; Clarence, Khalid, (Raymond), Charles ll, and Walter, all of Philadelphia, PA. A host of great and great-great nieces and nephews, her God-daughter, Arnele Maldonado of Bowie MD, three special earth angels, Patricia Silvia of Raynham, MA, Rosemarie Thomas of Taunton, MA. and Pamela Gonsalves of Fall River, MA. and many family members, friends, and a loving church family. A funeral home service will be held on Saturday, September 11th at 12 pm. in the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA, 02780 Relativea and friends are invited ti visiting hours prior to the service from 10:30 am. to 12;00 pm. Burial will be private at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kay’s memory may be made to the Baptist Church of All Nations (JOY Seniors Ministry) 61 Winthrop Street, Taunton, MA.
