GLOUCESTER: Josephine M. (Vegliano) Langley, 94, passed away on September 3, 2010 in her home. She was the wife of the late Henry C. Langley.
Born in Gloucester on April 5, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Ernesto and Rose (Scola) Vegliano.
Josephine was a hardworking woman, starting first as a teenager at the former Ipswich Mills on Maplewood Avenue and then as a fish packer at numerous plants on the Gloucester waterfront including Cape Ann Fisheries, Davis Brothers and lastly Empire Fish until her retirement.
She was the loving and dedicated mother of Irene, wife of Donald Wilson and devoted grandmother to her only grandchild, Tiffany Wilson. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary, wife of the late Carl Ciaramitaro, Betty, wife of George Kenny, Grace, wife of Leo Mione, Rose wife of Mario Mendes, Vincie, wife of the late Frank Re and Antoinette, wife of the late Frank Warren; a brother, Sebastian Vegliano and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by a sister, Margaret and her husband, William Ragussa, and a brother, Frank Vegliano.
