SCHANNEN, RUTH E. (GARRISON) of Wayland formerly of Lynnfield, died peacefully in the comfort and care of her family at her residence on Friday, August 27, 2010. Loving wife of 59 years of the late Richard H. Schannen who died on June 26, 2006. Beloved and devoted mother of William H. Schannen and his wife Patricia E. Schannen of Carlisle and Doris L. Schannen of Wayland. Cherished grandmother of Andrew L. Schannen, MD of Tuscon, AZ. Sister of Martha Hay of Fort Wayne, IN and Arthur Garrison of Bradenton, FL. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. At the request of her family, funeral services and interment in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in her memory sent to the DeCordova Museum, Education Initiative Fund, 51 Sandy Pond Road, Lincoln, MA 01773 would be appreciated.
