Mary Claire (Brady) Mahony, 83, of Franklin, died Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Madonna Manor Nursing Home in No. Attleboro. She was the wife of the late Daniel T. Mahony who died in 2005.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on May 30, 1927, she was the daughter of the late James and Irene C. (Scanlon) Brady.
Mrs. Mahony grew up in Blackstone and was a resident of Franklin since 1990.
A homemaker all of her life, she adored her grandchildren and was an avid New England sports fan.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Claire Watier and her husband Fred of Smithfield, RI, Madonna Mahony and her husband Richard Howard of Newport Richey, FL, Martha Mahony and her life partner Victoria Lazareth of Franklin and Meredith Fortier and her husband Donald of No. Attleboro.
She is also survived by five grandchildren, Shanna, Scott and Samantha Watier and Emily and Ellie Fortier.
She was the sister of the late James and John Brady.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Friday, September 10 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Franklin at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery in Blackstone.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 – 7 p.m.
