EAST TAUNTON – Donald W. Leanues, an East Taunton resident, died unexpectedly at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on Aug. 31, 2010.
He was 52.
The son of Donald and Elsie M. (Mendoza) Leanues, he was raised and educated in Taunton and later served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam War.
He was employed by MacDougall’s Cape Cod Marine Services in Falmouth as a mechanic.
Donald retired several years ago due to a disability.
An avid motorcycle enthusiast, Donald enjoyed the ocean, boating, cooking, music; and had a talent for fixing anything in need of repair.
Besides his parents of East Taunton, he leaves two sons, Jesse Leanues of North Port, FL and Shaun Leanues of Taunton; a daughter, Sara Jones of Taunton; two granddaughters, Ashiyah and Ava Jones of Taunton; two sisters, Judith Goulart of Pembroke, NH and Kendra Leanues of East Taunton; a niece and nephew, Hilary and Adam Goulart, both of Pembroke, NH; and several aunts and uncles.
Calling hours will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Saturday, Sept. 11th from 2 to 4 p.m. with a Memorial Service following at 4 p.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
His cremains will be interred privately at the MA National VA Cemetery in Bourne at a later date.
