Cannata, Anthony C. of Marshfield, formerly of Rockland, died September 4, at the age of 79. Beloved husband of the late Katherine M. (Downey) Cannata. Son of the late Sarino and Bertha (Matthews) Cannata. Dear father of Debra Kimmett and her husband Kevin of Marshfield. Loving grandfather of Melissa, Meghan and Jennifer. Great-grandfather of Jimmy, Courtney, Robert, Michael and Marcus. Dear brother of Dorothy Mahoney and her husband Tom of Holliston and the late John and Robert Cannata. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and 2 great granddogs Joscelyn and Pinto.
Andy was born in Boston. He was a long time resident of Marshfield. Andy was a veteran of the US Navy during the Korean War. He was Past Commander of the Marshfield DAV, for 4 terms and a Past Commander of the Marshfield American Legion. Andy belonged to the AMVETS, VFW, National Trench Rats and the Marshfield Elks.
Funeral from the MacDonald Funeral Home, l755 Ocean St., rte. l39, Marshfield, on Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann by The Sea Church at l0 a.m.
Visiting hours Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m.
Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at l2:45 on Wednesday.
