Obituary

RAYNHAM – Ralph J. McGrath, husband of Elizabeth P. (Houser) McGrath, died at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston on Sept. 1, 2010.
A Raynham resident for the past eight years, he was 90 years old.
Born, raised, and educated in Brockton, Mr. McGrath was the son of the late Joseph A. and Edith (Dearn) McGrath.
He graduated from Brockton High School in 1939, later serving in the U.S. Army during WW II.
An employee of the City of Brockton for many years, he was subsequently employed as a manager for McGrath’s Restaurant in Plymouth, where he worked for over 22 years, retiring in 1987.
A member of the Disabled American Veterans, Mr. McGrath was happiest when spending time with his family, and especially enjoyed the company of his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of Raynham, he leaves four sons, Brian J. McGrath of Fryeburg, ME, Duane McGrath of Brockton, Michael P. McGrath of Raynham, and Joseph A. McGrath of Plymouth; a daughter, Eleanor F. Weeks of Plymouth; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
Calling Hours will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Saturday, Sept 4th from 4 to 7 p.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Interment will be private at the MA National VA Cemetery in Bourne.
