Obituary

Ruth G. (Jolly) Correia, 93, of Centerville died September 1, 2010 at Alden Court in Fairhaven after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late Manuel P. Correia.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Omer and Ruth (Keelan) Jolly, she lived in Mattapoisett for 25 years before moving to Barnstable Village and later to Centerville.
She co-founded Sharkey’s Tire with her late husband.
She enjoyed stamp collecting and hand writing analysis. She was a former member of the Mattapoisett Women’s Club and a former Girl Scout leader.
Survivors include a son, Donald R. Correia of Mattapoisett; a daughter, Sandy Correia McAlister and her husband Dean of Stuart, FL; 6 grandchildren, David M. Correia of Fairhaven, Dawn-Ruth Mello & Partner Scott Bourgeois of New Bedford, Dean R. Correia and wife Kimberly of Rochester, D. Robin Gouveia and her husband Gregory of Rochester, Gregory D. McAlister of Jupiter, FL, Nicholas McAlister of Woodbridge, VA; 9 great-grandchildren, Tanya Mello of Fairhaven, Valery Stuart and her Husband James of New Bedford, Danielle Correia of Falmouth, Robert Correia of Falmouth, Brian Correia of Falmouth, Heather Correia of Pensacola, FL, Jordan Correia of New Bedford, Jessica S. Correia of Rochester, and Amanda Correia of New Bedford; and 2 great-great-grandchildren, Brayden Estrela of Fairhaven and Madison Estrela of Fairhaven.
She was the grandmother of the late Deirdre Correia and Dianne Correia.
Her private funeral arrangements are with the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6), Mattapoisett.
