Obituary

Methuen, MA- Alice Emma (Frederick) Levesque, 88, died Monday, August 30th 2010 at the Methuen Health and Rehabilitation Center in Methuen, with Jerry, her devoted husband of seventy years, by her side.

Born in Lawrence on May 3rd 1922, Alice was the daughter of Lucien and Emma (Gauthier) Frederick. She was educated in Lawrence and was a graduate of St. Anne’s Catholic High School. Alice married her husband, Gerard in 1940 and together they started a family. Her life was dedicated to raising and loving her three children.

Alice was a communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish/ St. Theresa’s Church and was a member of the Third Order of Mary. Alice was one of the first crossing guards in Methuen, a job she loved. The children would sometimes take the long way home just to be greeted by Alice’s face. She was a giving person and her family sometimes joked that she spent more money on candy and gifts for the children then she made from the job.

Alice’s biggest joy in life was her family who meant so much to her.She will never be forgotten and the lives she touched will miss her deeply.

Alice will be missed by her beloved husband of 70 years, Gerard Levesque, her three children, Ernest “Pete” Levesque and his wife Joanne, Diane Bernard and her husband Herbert, and Donald, and 4 grandchildren, Michelle Verzi, Charlene Levesque, Pamela Chaisson and Brian Bernard. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren, Alex and Samantha Gilman and Nicole Chaisson, one sister, Gertrude Letourneau and sister-in-law Annette Frederick.

The Family would like to thank, from the bottom of their hearts, all the nurses and staff at the Methuen Health and rehab for all of the compassionate care they have shown Alice and her family.
