In Hyannis, August 27, 2010 Beatrice (Sherry) Soszek, died peacefully in her 97th year at Cape Cod Hospital with her loving daughter by her side. Mrs. Soszek was the beloved wife of the late Peter M. Soszek, a well known baseball player for sixty years. Beatrice and Peter lived in East Taunton most of their lives. They had one child, their daughter Carol M. Soszek of Yarmouth. Beatrice has lived on Cape Cod with her loving daughter and care giver for the past two years. Mrs. Soszek worshipped her one Grandson, Peter W. Bleau Sr.& his companion Sheryl Gardner and her great grandson Peter W. Bleau Jr. all of N. Dighton formerly of E. Taunton Beatrice was born on March 8, 1914 in Taunton to the late Thomas H. Sherry, former owner of the Sherry Trucking Co., and Susanna (Jackson) Sherry. Beatrice graduated from Tauntin High School in 1932. After her retiring as a cloth inspector, Beatrice found great joy in caring for children in her home. Along with her motherly love, Beatrice played school with the pre-school children. She taught them the readiness, reading and math skills. She also helped the older children with their homework. Mrs. Soszek was the sister of the late George Sherry, Elizabeth Wade, Margaret Harrigan, Thomas Sherry, Edith Sherry and her late sister-in-law Ann Bradshaw. Beatrice also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins and her dearest friend Rose Davis. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. in Taunton on Friday, Sept. 3rd at 10am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Family Church in East Taunton at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thurs from 4-7pm. Interment in the family lot in Pine Hill Cemetery in East Taunton. Donations in Beatrice’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701
