New Bedford – Eric Dobson, Jr., 64, of New Bedford died after a long illness on August 29, 2010 at. S. E. Mass. Health & Rehab. Center. He was the husband of Sally P. (Perry) Dobson.
Mr. Dobson was born in New Bedford, son of the late Eric and Ethel E. (Harrison) Dobson, and resided in Fairhaven most of his life, living the past 20 years in New Bedford. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. The former Guisti Baking Company employed him as a baker until their closing. He was an active member of VFW Post 2892 and the American Legion Post 166 both located in Fairhaven.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by a daughter: Kristin Dessert of New Bedford; 2 sons: Eric Dobson III of New Bedford and John C. Dobson of Las Vegas, NV; 2 stepdaughters: Kelly A. Lucas of Acushnet and Tracy L. Watkinson of New Bedford; a stepson: Thomas V. Watkinson, Jr. of New Bedford; 2 sisters: Glenna E. Pelton of Mystic, CT and Barbara L. Hardy of Franklin, MA; a brother: James C. Dobson of Hartford, CT; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
He was brother of the late Elinor R. Dobson.
