Laconia-----Arthur J. Ralls, 81, of 293 Darby Drive, died at his home on Sunday, August 29, 2010.
Mr. Ralls was born December 4, 1928 in Dracut, Mass., the son of Austin P. and Florence E. (Moss) Ralls. He was a longtime resident of the Belmont and Gilmanton area before moving to Laconia eleven years ago.
Mr. Ralls served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He had been employed at H.E. Fletcher Granite in West Chelmsford, Mass. for many years. After retirement, he delivered trucks for N.H. Peterbilt and Peterbilt of Maine. He was a truck driver for fifty-one years.
Mr. Ralls enjoyed spending time with his entire family and especially treasured time with his grandchildren and wife. He also loved cooking for this family.
Mr. Ralls was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 633 and Local 49.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa D. (Long) Ralls, of Laconia; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael A. and Christine (Green) Ralls, of Gilmanton; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela E. (Ralls ) and Andrew Roy of Penacook; three grandchildren, Austin J. Ralls, Michaela M. Ralls and Shawn J. Roy; a sister, Barbara Ralls, of Lowell, Mass.; a brother-in-law and good friend, Nicholas Hamp, of Maine; a nephew, Mark Regan, and his wife, Christine, and a niece, Liz Hamp, and her husband, Bill Squires. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ralls was predeceased by a brother, John Ralls, and by two sisters, Norma Regan and Elizabeth Hamp.
There will be no calling hours.
A Graveside service will be held on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 11:00AM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway Rte. 3, Boscawen, N.H.
