Dickson, George L. of Quincy, died on Saturday, August 28, 2010. Loving husband of Annmarie Dickson (Clancy) of Quincy. Devoted father of Karen Dickson Goedicke of Milton. Brother of Rita dePourtales of Norwell and the late Anna Driscoll and Dorothy Bonnerman. Cherished grandfather of Michael, Catherine and Meghan Goedicke all of Milton. Former father in-law to William Goedicke of Weymouth. George is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
George was born in Weymouth and grew up in Weymouth and Quincy. He was a graduate of North Quincy High School and Boston University School of Public Relations and Communications class of 1954. George worked for Liberty Mutual in Boston for 30 years as a claims manager before retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Squantum Yacht Club. George enjoyed boating, biking and volunteering for meals on wheels. George worked part time for the National Park Service in Quincy. George loved his wife, daughter and grandchildren who were very special to him. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him. WWII Navy Veteran.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Wednesday, September 01, 2010 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15AM on Thursday, September 02, 2010 prior to the Funeral Mass in Saint John's Church at 10 AM.
Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
