DANVERS: LaRae M. (Gainer) Brown, 61, died Friday, August 27, 2010 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers.
Born in Altona, Manitoba, Canada on February 2, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Ray Gainer and Elizabeth (Berry) Hall. A graduate of Beverly High School, she had resided in Beverly most of her life before moving to Danvers fifteen years ago.
LaRae was employed as a waitress at the Sam & Joe’s Restaurant in Danversport for many years. She was a member of the Franco-American Club and the Herman A. Spear Post #331, American Legion both of Beverly and a former member of the Beverly Lodge of Elks #1309. An avid bingo player, she enjoyed traveling all over with her friends to find the best game.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kirk P., Jr. and Melonie Brown of Beverly, four grandchildren, Kirk P., III and Korey A. Brown both of Seabrook, NH and Scott J. and Jack C. Hoyt both of Beverly, her longtime dear friends, Joan and John Paddol of Beverly and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was also predeceased by her sister, Charlotte Chase and two brothers, Arthur Gainer and John Ross.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly from 5 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Funeral services will be privately held at the convenience of the family.
