Thelma M. Cormier, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday August 26, 2010 at Academy Manor, Andover. Thelma was born in Haverhill, MA and was raised and educated in Haverhill and Lawrence. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Parish, Lawrence. For many years, she worked as a secretary in local textile mills and in more recent years, she worked in the offices of The Lawrence Public Library. She volunteered for many years at The American Red Cross and also worked with Greater Lawrence Elder Services.
Her family members include her brother, Richard Cormier and sister-in-law, Gracienne Cormier and her nieces and nephews, Roland and Lillian Cormier, Diane and Al Malek, Annette and Robert Lemieux, Denise and David Molinari, Robert and Carrie Cormier, David and Cathleen Cormier, Jane and Bert Roy, Richard and Violeta Cormier, Susan and Tian Liu, Lynn and Gama Kotb and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and her longtime dear friend, Rose Richards. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Robert Cormier.
Friends may call on Tuesday, August 31 , 2010 from 9 to 10:30 at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A Funeral Mass will follow on Tuesday at 11:00am in All Saints Church, Haverhill. The burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery , Haverhill.
