James A. Hyslop, Jr., 89, WWII Veteran, passed away on August 23rd. It was unexpected but exactly the way he would have orchestrated the event! Jim was born in Wilkinsburg, PA to the late Nora O. and James A. Hyslop. He was employed by The Union Switch & Signal in Swissvale, Pa., for 42 years where he met and later married Thelma T. Hyslop. Their union lasted 62 years until her death in 2007. He was also preceded in death by sisters Jean Bell (Charles) and Dorothy Gray. Survivors include his daughter, Donna Nepute, and granddaughter, Anna Nepute, of Louisville and Hebron, respectively. He has one nephew, Robert Gray, of Cocoa Beach, Fl.
Jim loved jazz, football, baseball, walking at Oxmoor Mall and was an avid vegetable gardener.
Jim was very close to his extended family of in-laws so there will be a memorial service in Pennsylvania. Cremation was chosen.
