Davide Balasco, 79, of Texas Avenue, Providence, died Friday, August 27, 2010 at his home. He was the husband of Barbara (Paterson) Balasco. They had been married for 57 years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Vito and Giovannini (Piccirrilli) Balasco. He had been a resident of Providence since 1997 and had previously lived in North Providence.
Mr. Balasco was a Korean Army veteran. He had worked at Cranston Print Works in quality control before retiring in 1989.
Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter Elena Kojoian, her husband and their two children of Cranston and his son David A. Balasco and his two children Renata and Christopher of Jamestown and two brothers Anthony and Rudolph Balasco.
A Graveside service with Military Honors will be held Wednesday at 11:30am in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to RI Diabetes Assoc., PO Box 2680, North Canton, OH, 44720.
