WEBSTER – Elaine E. (Piette) Makowski, age 87, formerly of Lake Parkway, died Sunday, November 23, in Webster Manor. Her husband of 65 years, John W. Makowski, Sr., died May 22.
She leaves a son, John W. Makowski, Jr., of Bradford; a daughter, Charlene A. Szwarc of Sturbridge; a sister, Hazel Mendillo of Dudley; 5 grandchildren, Dr. Brian Szwarc of Thomasville, GA, Kevin Szwarc of San Francisco, Leanne Szwarc of Roslindale, Lisa Makowski of North Andover, and Kathy Makowski of Salem; a great granddaughter, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
She was born in Woodstock, Connecticut, daughter of Arthur and Pauline (Stoll) Piette, and lived here most of her life.
Mrs. Makowski was a stitcher at local shoe companies for many years before retiring. She wasa member of St. Louis Church. She belonged to the Webster Historical Society for many years. She enjoyed gardening and sewing.
The funeral will be held Saturday, November 29, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake St. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Calling hours are from 7:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, November 28, in the funeral home.
