Obituary

Rita A. (Desbiens) Landry, 78, of Windsor, NH passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010 surrounded by her loving family in the Pleasant View Center in Concord, NH. Mrs. Landry was born in Manchester, NH on October 25, 1931, daughter of the late Alonzo and Alice (Boulanger) Desbiens. She had resided in Windsor since 1991, formerly of Londonderry, NH. Being the first woman in Manchester, NH to receive her motorcycle license, she co-owned Landry’s Motorcycle with her husband, Guy. An avid bowler, she was the N.H. doubles champ during the 1960's. She was a member of the Windham Women’s Softball League.
She is survived by her husband, Guy G. Landry of Windsor, one daughter, Marie A. O’Keefe of Londonderry, four sons, Michael Landry of Tampa, FL, Peter Landry of Derry, NH, Henry Landry of Windsor, and Maurice Landry of Greenfield, NH, five grandchildren, Deidre Landry, Stephanie O’Keefe, Kevin Schultz, Mark Schultz, Aimee Landry, and one sister, Doris Milonas of Manchester, NH. She was predeceased by her son Roger Landry in 1977, two brothers, Roger and George Desbiens, and her sister, Theresa Desbiens.
Calling hours were held on Sunday, August 29th from 2:00 to 5:00pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. Funeral services were held Monday, August 30th at 10:00am in the funeral home. Burial followed in Holy Cross Cemetery, Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Payson Center at Concord Hospital, 250 Pleasant St., Concord, NH 03301 or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
