Obituary

Mary Lou Williams Bryan, 89, of Tifton died Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2010, at New Life Presbyterian Church. Rev. Sam Maves will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Elders of New Life Presbyterian Church will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 27, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mrs. Bryan was born on April 22, 1921 in Sylvester and was the daughter of Parks E. Williams, Sr. and Pearl Parrish Williams, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Perdue "Bud" Bryan, Jr., who died on February 18, 2010; and one brother, Parks E. Williams, Jr. She was a homemaker and a member of New Life Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Tallahassee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Tifton Camellia Garden Club. She majored in Music at Wesleyan College and was an accomplished concert pianist.

Mrs. Bryan is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Deidre Bryan, Buddy and Doris Bryan and Charlie Sr. and Patsy Bryan, all of Tifton; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Pearl Barbee of Sylvester and Ina Ann and Ted Wood of Tucker; 12 grandchildren, Bill Bryan, Bob Bryan, Bonnie Hooten, Ben Bryan, Ed Bryan, Michael Bryan, Christa Bryan, Cason Swan, Brooke Mitchell, Colin Bryan, Myles Bryan and Mary Jo Bryan; several great grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and two special care-givers, Mandy Arnett and LeAnne McAlpin.
