Obituary

Worcester - Robert Franklin Crerie, 86, died peacefully at home, August 24, 2010, surrounded by his family. Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Shirley Mangs Crerie, and five children, Debra, Sally Mitchell, Robert, Jonathan, and Jeffrey. He leaves grandchildren, Gabriel, Nicole, Allison, Jared, Bryce, Claire and James and great grandchildren, Abby and Olivia.

Robert was the son of Dr. Fred R. Crerie and his wife, Ethel May Neely Crerie.

Bob graduated from Classical High School in 1942, earned a B.A in Economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1949, and MA. from New York University. His early executive career was in New York and Philadelphia with Gimbels, and later in Rochester, Saugus, and Washington D.C. with Sears.

Bob was a WWII veteran, part of the 2nd Army Air Corps, piloting B-24s and B-29s.

Bob and Shirley would have been married 60 years on November 11, an anniversary they always were pleased to have coincide with Veterans Day.

Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to
U Mass Hospice, 650 Lincoln St, Worcester, or to Sterling Animal Shelter, Sterling. Family will be receiving condolences on Sunday, September 5 from 1:00- 4:00 at their home in Worcester.
