Whitman – John F. Pierce 78 a life long resident of Whitman died Monday August 23 in his home after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of Agnes (Milonas) Pierce.
Born and raised in Whitman he was the son of the late Burton and Mary Louise Pierce and a graduate of Whitman High School.
John was a US Air Force Veteran having served from 1950-1953.
Before his retirement John had been the head custodian of the Conley School in Whitman for over 17 years.
He was a loyal fan of the local sports teams and attended countless games over the years. He enjoyed photography and collecting stamps and spent many enjoyable hours outdoors in his vegetable garden.
In addition to his wife Agnes he is survived by his brothers Harold Pierce and David Pierce both of Whitman, Gerald Pierce of Avon, his sister Nan Dionne of Whitman and his sister-in-law Irene Chandler of Wakefield.
