LANGFORD - Ralph Langford, 77, passed away Monday morning August 23, 2010 at his Seymores Pt. residence. He was born in Plant City, Florida and moved to Fernandina in 1970. Mr. Langford retired from Rayonier where he worked as a millwright for years. He was a lover of all sports and a true Gator. He coached Little League, Senior League and was a great MotoCross ‘Dad’. He loved to work on his sons dirt bikes and would fix anyone’s bike at the track including the competition. He loved racing. He loved nothing more than to watch his sons play sports and race and he never missed an event. Mr. Langford loved people and truly never met a stranger. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Bushnell. Mr. Langford leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Betty Jo Langford, 3 sons, Rick Langford (Patti) Fernandina Beach, Bob Langford (Kathy) Daytona Beach, Randy Langford (Frances) Houston, Tx., 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and 2 brothers Gordon Langford (Texas) and Harvey Langford (Tampa, Fl). Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Thursday, August 26, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home with Rev. Harford Peeples officiating. Interment will follow in Green Pine Cemetery with military honors rendered by the U. S. Navy. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a. m. Thursday until the time of service.
