Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Louise M. “Sue” (Troy) Cusick, 82, of 927 Washington Street, died at her home on Saturday morning, August 21, 2010 following a brief illness. She was the wife of Harry J. Cusick.

Born in Detroit, Michigan on April 20, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Walter Troy and Louise (Silver) Porter. The family returned to Gloucester when Sue was an infant. She attended Gloucester public schools.

Sue was involved in the restaurant business for most of her life. She owned and operated Sailor Stan’s on Essex Avenue and the former Drift In on Rocky Neck, now known as Sailor Stan’s. She also waitressed at several local restaurants including Ra-Joe’s, Cameron’s and The Easterly. She was a former member of the Women of the Moose Chapter #896.

In addition to her husband of twenty-five years, she is survived by her daughters, Karen Roberts of Gloucester; Kandy Roberts, wife of Rich Salit and their children, Eli and Story of Rhode Island; her son, Joseph Roberts and his daughter, Sara of Gloucester; grandson, James, husband of Holly Roberts and their children, Zachary and Zain of California; two sisters, Phyllis Gobeil of Gloucester and Mary Hamberg of Arizona. She also leaves a stepdaughter, Karen, wife of Chris Faison and children, Miranda and Chris, Jr.; stepson, David, husband of Jane Cusick; her brother-in-law, Pete, husband of Dolores Cusick and two sisters-in-law, Flossie Cusick and Margie Cusick, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by her son, James Roberts, grandsons, William Roberts and Dylan Hill and daughter-in-law, Jean (Marshall) Roberts.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral services.
