Obituary

Marie Antoinette Simard, 84, of Fourth Ave., Woonsocket, died Friday at Oakland Grove. She was the wife of the late Alfred A. Simard.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Antonia (Martin) Desilets. She was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mrs. Simard worked for Univis Co. in North Attleboro and in the housekeeping dept. at Mt. St. Francis before retiring.
Marie enjoyed sewing, bingo, and puzzles. She was passionate about music and singing. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by a daughter, Gloria L. Boucher of Woonsocket, three grandchildren, Dennis Boucher of CT, and Stephen and David Boucher both of Woonsocket, and three great-grandchildren, Kyle, Zachary, and Kelsey Boucher. She was the sister of Harvey Desilets of FL, Claire McBride of East Providence, Doris Fontes of Pascoag, Annette Cobb of FL, and the late Albert, Lucien, Robert, and Henri Desilets, Eva Rabidoux, Therese Galloway, Viviane Ethier, and Leona Richard. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Visiting hours will be Thursday from 5-8 pm in the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will be private.
