New Bedford – Maria J. Cabral, age 92 years, died Sunday, August 22, 2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Gabriel Paiva Cabral. Mrs. Cabral was the mother of Zelia Maria Pimentel, wife of Jose, Maria G. Santos, wife of Antonio and Maria J. Santos, wife of Jaime and the late Jose Luiz Paiva, Carlos Paiva and Jose Mario Macedo. She was the sister of Flavia Rodrigues, Eduarda Moniz and Alcuira Costa, mother-in-law of Maria daLuz Paiva and Maria Macedo. Mrs. Cabral leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs Cabral was the daughter of the late Jose Henrique and Rita (Herminia) Nunes. She was born in St. Michael, Azores and lived in this area since 1970.
Mrs Cabral’s funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St., Tuesday at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M.. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Monday evening from 6 - 9 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
