Obituary

WORCESTER-Edward R. Flynn, Jr., 75, of 23 Wyola Drive died at home after a long battle with cancer, with his wife of 54 years Ruth E. (Hamblin) Flynn and his daughter, Kathleen R. Dowd of Oxford at his side. His 3 sons Michael E. Flynn of Plymouth, Edward R. “Skip” Flynn of Maple Falls, WA and Steven S. Flynn of Ooltewah, TN, and 8 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren whom he loved and enjoyed so much and a sister Grace Arey of Worcester. Another sister Marjorie (Falvey) Glode and a grandson Zachary S. Dowd predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester the son of Edward R. Flynn, Sr., and Alice (Aldrin) Flynn. He was a graduate of Commerce High School, and served in the Army Air Corps during World War 2. Mr. Flynn was a dedicated worker, and had been a part-time taxi driver for Arrow Cab for several years. He also had been foreman at Capitol Footwear, and worked at United Parcel Service. He enjoyed woodworking, and would often make gifts of the dog houses and picnic tables he built. He will be missed by his family and friends.

A graveside service will be Wednesday, November 26th, at 11:00 AM in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements.
