Gene Osteen Garrick, 83, of Tifton died Saturday, August 21, 2010, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 23, 2010, at Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Olin Hamlin and Rev. Kenny Hester will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 22, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Garrick was born on October 30, 1926, in Tift County and was the son of Jacob Wesley Garrick and Nellie Taylor Garrick, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one brother and one daughter.
Mr. Garrick was a retired salesman at Roddenberry's and a member of Zion Hope Baptist Church. He was also a United States Army veteran and had lived in Tift County all of his life.
Mr. Garrick is survived by his wife, Mildred Hester Garrick of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Gene and Patsy Garrick of Tifton; two sisters, Mary Nell Howell and Jenny Garrick, both of Fitzgerald; two grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
