Robert E. Rivet, 70, formerly of Stillwater Road, Smithfield, died Wednesday, August 18, 2010. He was the loving husband of Faith (Lachapelle) Rivet. They had been married for 42 years.
Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Ovila and Evelina (Jacques) Rivet. He had been a longtime resident of Smithfield.
He was a Vietnam veteran and had served in the Air Force from 1962 -1966.
He was a 1958 graduate of St. Raphael Academy and a 1962 Providence College graduate. He had previously worked as a Textile dyeing Technologist before retiring. He had been Chairman of the RI Association of Textile Chemist and Colorist. He was an avid baseball fan, loved playing and had been a pitcher.
Besides his wife he is survived by his two daughters Charlene Perreault and her husband Joel, of Smithfield and Lynne Perreault and her husband, Kevin of Lebanon, CT and a sister, Evelyn Rivet of Worcester.
Funeral Saturday at 9:30am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Michael Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Georgiaville. Visitation Saturday 8:30-9:30am. Burial will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Michael Church, 80 Farnum, Georgiaville, RI 02917.
