Richard H. "Dick" Merrill

TEWKSBURY - Richard H. "Dick" Merrill, age 71, died Wednesday, August 18, in his Tewksbury home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband, for 22 years, of Lorraine (Barth) Merrill of Tewksbury. He was born in Quincy on August 7, 1939, a son the the late, Fred H. and Arline (Fowler) Merrill.
He formerly worked for the MBTA Police Department, as a detective, for Paul Revere Transportation, and for Beth Israel Hospital. He was a member of Local 25 Teamsters and the MBTA Police Association.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children and their spouses; Brian and Danielle Harer of Holbrook, Stephen and Carolyn Harer of Lynn, Heidi and Ben You of Danvers, Doreen Davis, Richard Merrill Jr., Diane Merrill, and Robert Merrill. He was also the brother of; Phyllis and Brad Willis of Marshfield, Patricia and Timothy Wood of FL, and the proud grandfather to several grandchildren and his beloved "grand-bulldog" Tyson. He was also the brother of the late, Paul and Patricia Merrill. Funeral services were held Friday, August 20 in the funweral home.
