Obituary

Armand “Gus” Roberts age 81 of Salem, NH, died Wednesday, Aug. 18th at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill, MA, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Methuen, MA, where he grew up and attended schools. He was a resident of Salem, NH for the past 58 years.

Gus was a retired custodian for the Salem, NH School System. He also had worked for Raytheon and Hampstead Hospital as a cook. Gus also owned and operated Joe’s Restaurant and Gussie's Lunch, both in Salem, NH. He was a US Navy veteran, serving during World War II. He was a charter member of the Derry-Salem Elks Lodge, a member of the VFW Post 8546, and the American Legion all in Salem, NH.

He was predeceased by his wife Agnes “Mickey” Roberts

He is survived by his Son: Michael & his wife Debbie Roberts of Salem, NH

Daughter: Ellen Lemieux of Framingham, MA

Sister in Law Eileen McAtamney of Lawrence, MA

5 Grandchildren: Nicole & her husband Patrick McMahon, Joseph & Brian Lemieux, Timothy & his wife Lindsay Roberts, & Christine Roberts

2 Great Grandchildren: Kevin & Kaitlyn McMahon
Several Nieces & Nephews

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Aug. 23 at 11 AM at St’s Mary & Joseph Church at St. Joseph Church, Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.

Calling hours will be Sunday, Aug. 22nd from 2-5 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimac St, Bldg. 9, Lawrence, MA 01843.
