Joseph A. Bedard, 89, of Dartmouth died August 4, 2010 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth after a brief illness.
He was the husband of the late Violet E. (Stott) Bedard.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Joseph and Ada L. (Bolton) Bedard, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Bedard was a communicant of St. James Church.
He was formerly employed by North End Laundry and Berkshire-Hathaway before retiring from Continental Screw.
Mr. Bedard enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include a son, Joseph A. Bedard, Jr. and his wife Susan of New Bedford; 3 daughters, Edna Grondin and her husband Gary of Westport, Susan Avila and her husband Joel of Dartmouth and Deborah Sobolewski and her husband Edward of New Bedford; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 20th at 10 AM in St. James Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
