Laretha Davis, age 63, of Douglas, GA passed away at her residence on Sunday following an extended illness. Ms. Davis was born on November 13, 1946 to the late Jeff and Willie Mae Carter Davis of Douglas, GA. Ms. Davis was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Church of Latter Day Saints with interment following in the Wesley (Royals) Church Cemetery in Atkinson County. Survivors include: brothers: Lamar Davis and Tommy Davis, Douglas, GA; Melvin Davis and Willie C. Davis, Nicholls, GA; sister: Lois Peacock, Jacksonville, FL; 2 half sisters, one half brother and 2 step sisters and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother: Jeff Lawton Davis. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.
