Obituary

Anna Mae (Hargrove) Cox, 91, of Auburn, New Hampshire died Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Parkland Hospital in Derry, New Hampshire. She had resided in Auburn with her daughter since 2003. She was born December 16, 1918, to Charley T. and Bertha O. Hargrove in rural Vernon County, Missouri. She was a graduate of El Dorado Springs High School, El Dorado Springs, Missouri. On June 29, 1941, she married Edwin J. R. Cox of Clarendon, Texas. Mr. Cox was a commissioned officer in the Naval Reserve during World War II. After the war, they lived in Hawthorne, New Jersey until moving to the Chicago area in 1959. Mr. Cox died suddenly in November of 1962. Anna returned to Vernon County with her children, living in Nevada, Missouri until 2003, when she joined her daughter in New Hampshire. She was an excellent seamstress, singer, enjoyed watching baseball and had a good sense of humor. She will be buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dederick, Missouri. Arrangements for burial will be announced.

Survivors include: a daughter, Elizabeth Cox, of Auburn, NH; a son, J. R. Cox, of St. Petersburg, FL; a granddaughter, Kristen Palmer, of Lee’s Summit, MO; a sister, Ruby Sherman of Ottawa, KS; three brothers, Allen Hargrove of El Dorado Springs, MO; Charles Hargrove and Richard Hargrove of Nevada, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
