New Bedford - Maria Cravo, age 68 years, died Monday, August 16, at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Jose Cravo of New Bedford. Mrs. Cravo was the loving mother of Jose V. Cravo of New Bedford, Maria E. Ferreira of Tampa, FL. Sandra F. Amaral of Ocala, FL. Susan M. Morad of Rochester and Steve M. Cravo of Brandenton, FL. Maria was the loving grandmother of Brittany, Alex, Derek, Darren, Felicity and Sabrina. Maria was the sister of Maria Albertina, Delphina, Maria Albina, Carlos, Fernando, John and Manuel Bentencourtt. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Cravo was the daughter of the late Alfonso and Maria I. (Pereira) Bentencourtt. She was born in Pico Açores, Portugal and moved here in 1974. Maria was a housewife.
Mrs. Cravo’s Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Thursday at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday 4-7 P.M.
