Lelia Dillard McDaniel, 89, formerly of 600 Main Street, died Friday, August 13, 2010, at Roman Eagle Memorial Home.
Born April 30, 1921, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Pete S. Dillard and Eva Dowdy Dillard. She was married to Lee McDaniel who died in 1981.
Mrs. McDaniel lived most of her life in Danville and retired from Callahan Cleaners in 1985.
She is survived by a brother, Pete Dillard, Jr.; a step granddaughter, Deborah McDaniel Irby and husband Leo; six step children; eight step grandchildren; two step great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are special friends Sally Loney and Jean Dallas. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by two step sons, Floyd and William McDaniel and a sister, Elsie Dillard.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 16, 2010, at Highland Burial Park with her nephew, Rev. Steven Parker officiating.
The family will receive friends Sunday, evening from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Swicegood Funeral Home.
