Windham, NH – Margaret H. Gunning, 68, died suddenly Friday, August 13th at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry surrounded by her loving family.
Margaret was born in Methuen, September 23, 1941 the daughter of the late Laurence F. and Marguerite (Hadley) Gunning. She graduated from St. Laurence O’Toole Grammar school, Saint Mary’s High School and was a graduate of Merrimack College of North Andover.
For many years Margaret was a school teacher for Pelham Memorial School prior to her retirement.
She was a communicant of Saint Joseph’s Church in Salem and served as a Eucharistic minister and Church lector, as well. According to her family, Margaret enjoyed traveling, reading, cards, dominoes, and family.
She is survived by one sister Elin G. and her husband Michael Grady of Wellesley, Mass. and New Hampshire, cousins Lynda (Griess) Hamblin of Ontario, Canada, Gail (Rogers) Sudduth and Martha Jo (Rogers) Hewitt of New Hampshire, as well as nieces and nephews: Nathanael (Robin) Grady, Nicholas Grady, and Evelyn Gunning, seven grandnieces and grandnephews: Katherine, Laurence, Shayleah, Sawyer, Annabelle, Peter and Alison and by many dear friends.
Margaret was predeceased by her brother Laurence H. Gunning and nephew Peter Gunning Grady.
A funeral mass will take place on Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock in Saint Joseph’s Church in Salem, NH.
Friends will be warmly received on Tuesday from 4-8 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
