New Bedford – William F. Sylvia Jr., age 77, died Saturday, August 14, 2010 at home, with family by his side. William was the husband of the late Lydia (Casquilho) Sylvia. Survivors include his son Wayne F. Sylvia and his companion Joan Becker of Fall River, two granddaughters: Jodi Medeiros and Kristie Sylvia, a sister: Carol Reis of N. Dartmouth and a brother: Richard Sylvia of Old Saybrook, Conn. Mr. Sylvia was also survived by six great children: Kaitlyn, Jena, Chasiti, Devin, Ethan and Skarlette and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Sylvia was a son of the late William F. Sylvia Sr. and Mary H. (Pereira) Sylvia. He was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of his life. Mr. Sylvia worked as auto mechanic. He loved being at the golf course, watching golf on TV and hunting.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Perry Funeral Home. In accordance with his wishes his Funeral and burial are private.
