Obituary

Charlotte ( Caddell ) Barber, a lifelong resident of Stoughton passed away at home on Saturday August 7, 2010. She was 93 years old and the beloved caring wife of the late Lester W. Barber. She is survived by her children, Lester “ Way “ Wayland Barber III of Cambridge, Pamela C. Conrad and her husband Aubrey of Fort Meyers, Florida and Sandra A. “ Sandy “ Barber of Stoughton. She is also survived by her brother Samuel Newell Caddell and his wife Elizabeth of West Bridgewater and 2 grandchildren, Kristen “ KC “ Conrad and Amy Leigh Conrad both of Quincy.

Born July 27, 1917 in Stoughton, Massachusetts she was the cherished daughter of the late Thomas Caddell and Charlotte ( McGinnis ) Caddell. She attended Stoughton Public Schools and was a graduate of Stoughton High School.

Mrs. Barber was a member and attended the First United Methodist Church in Stoughton. Charlotte and her late husband were very active in the meal preparation for the monthly meetings held at the Rising Star Masonic Lodge in Stoughton. Both were also very active with the Stoughton Order of Rainbow Girls.

Her other interests and hobbies included, cooking, travelling with her family, especially out west to states such as Wyoming, Montana, Arizona, Washington State and Oregon, sewing, knitting and rug making. She was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed dining out on occasion. Her greatest pleasure in life was making sure that her family was happy and well loved.

A celebration of Charlotte’s life and memorial visiting hours will be held on Thursday August 19, 2010 from 6 – 8 P.M. in the Sheehan, Lowe & Powers Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations to Caritas Good Samaritan Hospice, 3 Edgewater Drive, Norwood, MA 02062 in Charlotte’s memory would be appreciated.
