Obituary

LOWELL—John F. “Jack” Conlon, 67 years old, died Thursday evening at his home, after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Noreen (Finn) Conlon, with whom he celebrated their 40th anniversary in May of this year.

He was born in Lowell, on November 17, 1936, a son of the late John and Irene C. (Dempsey) Conlon. He was a graduate of St. Peter’s Grammar School, Keith Academy and the Mass College of Pharmacy, Boston. He received his M.Ed. from Northeastern University.

Mr. Conlon was employed by as a Teacher in the Dracut School System early on in his career. He then worked for the Massachusetts Department of Education for over 30 years. He was also employed as a Pharmacist part time at several local pharmacies during his career. He was an active member and past president of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, of Lowell.

He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church and held membership in the Immaculate Conception Senior Choir, and the Senior Center Choir. He also spent many hours volunteering at the D’Youville Senior Care Center.

Surviving him besides his wife are two sons and a daughter-in-law: John and Lori Conlon, of Lowell; and James Conlon, of Lowell; three grandsons: Jake, Aidan and Cole Conlon; one aunt: Rita Conlon, of Hyannis; his mother-in-law: Christina Finn, of Lowell; five brothers-in-law: Owen Finn, Denis Finn, both of Lowell; Gerard Finn, of Mashpee; Rev. Dan Finn, of St. Mark’s Church, Dorchester,; and Rev. Seamus Finn, OMI, of Washington, DC; a sister-in-law: Mary Finn, of Laguna Hills, CA; also many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Monday, November 25th, from 3 until 8 PM at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38), Lowell. His Funeral Mass to be offered Tuesday, November 26th, at 10:30 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
