Obituary

Samuel Clarence Hilton, 78, of Tifton died Saturday, August 14, 2010, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at Old Ty Ty Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Buck Woods will officiate with burial to follow in Old Ty Ty Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Ossie King, Max Long, Greg Linkeman, Willie Hollis, Mark Falbo and Michael Crews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 16, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Hilton was born on March 27, 1932 in Fitzgerald and was the son of Christopher Columbus Hilton and Leila Walker Hilton, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one grandchild; six brothers; and five sisters.

Mr. Hilton was retired after 43 years with CSX Railroad. He was a United States Navy veteran and a member of Disabled American Veterans.

Mr. Hilton is survived by his wife, Leola Tucker Hilton of Tifton; three sons, Christopher Hilton of Cordele, James Winter of Irwin County and Johnny Winter of Irwin County; six daughters, Norma Falbo of Jacksonville, Florida, Diane Hollis of Albany, Tina Willis of Fernandina, Florida, Pam Moody of Irwin County, Donna Hellar of Tifton and Cindy Winter of Warner Robins; one sister, Carolyn Deyo of Memphis, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
