Lorraine U. (Soucie) Mosher, 84 of Medway died August 12 in Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Edwin P. Mosher.
Born in Patten, Maine, July 17,1926, the daughter of the late Chester and Hilda (Fenimore) Soucie, Mrs. Mosher was raised in Millinocket, Maine and had lived in Boston for several years before moving to Medway where she had lived for 47 years.
Mrs. Mosher was a graduate of Brunswick High School, Class of 1943.
She also was a graduate of Central Maine General Hospital School of Nursing in 1949.
She attended the Polyclinic Hospital in New York City for specialized training in the working of an operating room.
Mrs. Mosher also attended Boston University School of Nursing.
A Registered Nurse she had worked at Central Maine Hospital, had been an instructor at Massachusetts General Hospital, also worked at New England Medical Center and had been on the faculty of Beth Israel Hospital.
From 1969-1978 she worked as a teacher’s aide with special needs students in Medway.
She finished her nursing career as charge nurse at the Medway Country Manor in 1988.
Mrs. Mosher was a member of the Alumni of Central Maine Hospital School of Nursing, had been president of the Maine Nursing Association twice and had served on many national nursing committees.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori Ann Mosher Murphy of Medway and her son, Chester E. Mosher of Medway.
Visitation will be on Monday August 16 in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway from 10:00-Noon followed by burial in Rural Cemetery in New Bedford.
